BRIEF HISTORY:
In 1985 Geraldine and Richard Morecroft co-hosted The National, the ABC's short-lived experiment with a nationwide hour-long nightly news service, combining news and current affairs, with Max Walsh and Richard Carlton as chief reporters.
Geraldine Doogue was the host of Radio National's Life Matters program for 11 years. She received a United Nations Media Peace Prize and two Penguin Awards for her role in ABC TV's coverage of the Gulf War. She has been the host ofCompass on ABC TV since 1998 and Saturday Extra on Radio National. She received the award of Officer of the Order of Australia in 2003.
Geraldine accepted the position of Patron of the Rodmell Fund in 2012.
