The fund has been established to commemorate the life of Australian Nursing Educator and Administrator
JOYCE CROSSON RODMELL OBE, CNA, FNSWCN 1917 – 2000.
The Fund provides money to assist nurses in the profession of Aged Care nursing to further their training and knowledge.
The Rodmell Fund, in honouring the memory of Joyce Rodmell, seeks to further her ideals and achievements in nurse education. In her latter life she spent many years in a nursing home environment, and it is the hope of those supporting the Fund that the dignity and comfort of men and women in similar circumstances can be improved.
Since its formation in 2002 The Rodmell Fund has provided education to over seven hundred nurses in the field of Aged Care with seminars in Dementia and Alzheimer’s, Palliative Care, Wound Management and Hearing Loss.
Fundraising events have been held and to date an amount of capital has been raised, a committee formed, an Advisory Committee of Doctors and Senior Nurses appointed, and future aged care seminars planned in addition to more fundraising.
The Rodmell Fund is a registered charity and has tax-deductible status.
